Bid types

Bid Type	Time limit for placing the bid.	Number of times the bid can be placed for a service request.	Disclosure of the bid details	Is it open to all service providers?
Sealed Bid	Within the number of days of bidding notified by the requester.	Only once	On expiry of the number of days for bidding specified by the requester.	Yes
Open Bid	Within the number of days of bidding notified by the requester.	Any number of times subject to the condition that the subsequent bids should be lesser than the previous bids.	As and when bids are placed, the details of all the bids for that particular request will be made available to the requester and other providers who had bid on the request. The idea is to facilitate an interested provider (say 'x') to bid again quoting a price lower than his previous bids to offset the advantage gained by a competing provider ( say 'y') who had quoted a price lower than that of 'x'. Providers, interested in wining the bid can bid again quoting a lower price because lower the bid, higher are the chances for winning the bid. Remember do not compromise on quality to quote a lower price. Lower the quality, lower will the customer satisfaction and hence lower will be the ranking for subsequent bids.
Offer now	No specific time period for bidding. But the bidding will close once the number of offers specified by the requester is reached. So if you are interested, bid immediately.	Only once	On completion of the bidding process	Yes
