Services have been categorized in to three levels. Each progressive level narrows down the request to the accurate category. All searches are based on the category; hence it is important that you place your request in the right category to increase your chances of finding more providers.

For example, if you want interior of your home to be decorated, your first, second and third levels of categorization would be Automobile >>Car >> Engine service

Care has been taken to meticulously categorize all probable services. However, you may not, at times, find the exact category at any or all the levels to place your request. Don't worry. Just let us know your requirement through 'suggestions', we'll find providers for your request.

Name your request

The name for your request should encapsulate your requirement. It should be designed to convey your need and spawn interest even on a cursory look.
Ideal name for your request would be [Service required] + [Specifics] + [Urgency level or any other information (optional)].
For example, if you want the engine of your BMW car to be serviced immediately, you could name your request as [Car Engine service] + [BMW2003] + [Immediate], that is, Car engine service needed immediately for BMW 2003 model.
If you need one thousand Kilograms of Cotton absorbent in September, you name for the request can be 'Cotton absorbent - One thousand Kgs needed in Sep'.

Questions on your request

These are questions from the Service providers. The questions are intended to acquire a clear perception of your requirement to arrive at an accurate estimate. Take care to answer these questions to the highest level of precision and add as many details as may be required.

Describe your requirement

The description of your request should, ideally, incorporate the following details.
- Job definition.
- Metrics.
- Quality standards.
- Deadline.
- Other details.
For example, if your requirement is a house to be built, then
The Job definition would be - Construction of a residential building of built up area of 650 Sq ft.

The details recommended are intended only to outline the characteristics of a good description. You are free to add as many details as required to make the description more meaningful.

Bid Type Selection
Now that your have made your requirement clear and placed your request before the service providers, they'll send their proposals through 'Bids'. Bid is a formal proposal to provide the service called for, at a specified price.
Depending on your requirement, you can opt one among the following Bid types.
- Open Bid
- Sealed Bid
- Offer Now
OPEN BID
- This is open to all service providers to bid on.
- The prices of the bids as and when they are received will be made known without exposing the identity of the bidder.
- A service provider who had already bided on the request can bid again, quoting a price lower than his earlier bid, in response to other bids received with price lower than his bid value.
- There are no restrictions on the number of bids that can be placed, however the price should be lower than the earlier bids.
- The bidding process will end on the expiry of the 'No of days for bidding' you specify.
- At the end of the bidding process, all details regarding the bids received will be made available to you, from which you can make your choice.
- Pros: Best suited if you need a competitive price for your offer.
SEALED BID
- This is open to all service providers to bid on.
- The prices of the bids received will be made known only on the expiry of the 'No of days for bidding' you specify.
- Bidding more than once is not permitted.
- At the end of the bidding process, all details regarding the bids received will be made available to you, from which you can make your choice.
- Pros: Best suited for projects where quality is the concern and price does not matter.
OFFER NOW
- Ideally suited for you immediate needs.
- Specify the numbers of service offers you require to choose a service provider.
- The details of the offers will be made known instantly on receipt of the number of offers you have specified. Hence no waiting time by way of 'No of days for Bidding'.
- Pros: Best suited for your pressing needs.
INVITE PROVIDER
The bid types discussed so far, namely Open bid, Sealed Bid and Offer now are open to all service providers. However, it may so happen that you want your offer to be put forth to only a few reputed service providers in the field, SPECIFIED by you. To do so select 'Invite providers' in addition to one of the choices - Open Bid, Sealed Bid and Offer now. On making this choice, you'll be provided with list of service providers from which you would have to select the providers to whom you would like to put forth your request. You can select any number of service providers from the list.
Ideal approach for select a winner from competing bids
- Select and scrutinize all the bids.
- Eliminate unviable bids. Such bids may derail the whole bid selection process.
- Scrutinize the remaining bids.
- Systematically eliminate bids which do not measure up to your expected standards. Continue till three or four bids remain.
- Peruse the final three or four and zero-in on the winner.
Your Questions to providers:
You'll certainly have questions for the providers, to judge and select on the basis of the responses. You can ask those questions now. Click 'Add another question' to add a new question.
Remember, you may or may not meet the provider before making a final choice. Use these questions to fathom, judge and form a critical opinion of the provider's credentials and capability.
The answers to the questions by all the providers, who had bid on you request, will be made available along with the bid details for you to decide on.
Your availability:
The interested service providers may need to talk to you or may need to make an on site inspection, as the service may demand, to make an accurate estimate. Arriving at an accurate estimate is essential because, only then the bid price can be arrived at.
To facilitate such meetings without any hardship, please indicate your availability. However, You'll have to confirm the appointment proposed by the provider before such meeting.
Verify and submit:
The details provided by you are summarized and presented. Go through the contents carefully. Use 'Edit' to make changes.
